Finding Stability in a Shifting Landscape

In a recent tweet, Oracle Ayano draws attention to a remarkable journey: "He lost his high-paying marketing job so he started delivering the mail." This tweet links to a personal essay by Stephen Starring Grant published in The Wall Street Journal, where Grant narrates the unexpected turn his life took during the pandemic. Background and Context

Stephen Starring Grant, once head of strategy at a boutique marketing agency, faced an unforeseen career setback when he was laid off during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Compounded by a prostate cancer diagnosis, the need for health insurance became urgent. With limited job prospects in the marketing field, Grant transitioned to a new role as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service (USPS), which offered the stability of immediate income and comprehensive benefits.
